Concealed Flush Button by J&J Tile Design: There is only one original. Why it doesn't pay to risk it with a cheap copy?
Minimalism rules in modern bathrooms. Clean lines, large-format tiles, and the absence of disturbing elements—this is the vision we help fulfill at J&J Tile Design. It was us who brought a functional and aesthetically perfect solution for concealed flush buttons to the market. Our product allows the toilet flushing mechanism to be completely "invisible" under a layer of tiling.
With the success of our solution, however, a dark side of the market has appeared: cheap imitations. They look similar, they work on a similar principle, but that's where the similarity ends. As the creators of the original, we would like to explain why these copies don't even come close to our solution in terms of quality and why they may become a problem in the future.
The Phenomenon of Clones: When two do the same thing, it is not the same thing
After the launch of our button, the market was flooded with products that parasitize our design. The customer sees a photo on an e-shop that looks "almost the same" and a price that is a few hundred lower. However, the devil is in the material, which you cannot recognize with the naked eye.
Where do the copies fail?
During development, we kept in mind that the button would be built into the wall for perhaps twenty years, facing humidity and the constant weight of the tiling.
The Material Gap (Our special vs. their classic PET-G):
Copy (Classic PET-G): Manufacturers of copies reached for the most accessible material, classic PET-G, which is commonly used in printing. However, this material has its limits. Under the permanent load of heavy tiles and the influence of moisture in the wall, it suffers from so-called "creep" (gradual deformation) and loss of elasticity.
Original J&J Tile Design: We did not go this way. We use a specially modified filament with unique additives. This material is modified to be structurally stable, not become brittle, and withstand the specific microclimate in the WC cistern installation shaft. It's not "just plastic"; it's a technical material for professional use.

Suspension is the heart of the button:
Copy: They use springs or blades made of classic material without moisture treatment, dimensioned for a lower number of presses. When you glue heavy ceramics on them, the spring won't "pull it off" in the long run. The result? The button starts to jam, water leaks, and you have to pry the button back with your fingernails.
Original J&J Tile Design: Our springs and mechanism are precisely dimensioned for the weight of the tiling. The button must return immediately and smoothly after being pressed. The materials of the mechanism are designed to function even in 15 years without weakening the return pressure.
Magnets and Safety:
Copies often underestimate the strength of the magnets or their anchoring. It happens that the magnet remains on the counterpart or the plate does not hold firmly enough. With us, we use strong neodymium magnets in precise beds, which ensure that the heavy tiles do not fall onto the toilet.

CONS (What needs to be considered)
- Higher Demands on the Tiler: This is not a product for amateurs. It requires precision work and ideal cuts made with a steady hand. If the tiler slacks off, the result won't be perfect.
- Stiffer Press: We cannot bypass physics. A button with glued tiles is heavier than a piece of hollow plastic. The control has a different tactile response (it feels sturdier), which might be unusual, for example, for small children.
- Price: Yes, we are more expensive than regular plastic buttons and our cheap copies. But you pay for the certainty that you won't have to cut into a finished bathroom in a year due to button malfunction.
We are not rich enough to buy cheap things
The concealed flush button is a detail that decides the overall impression of the entire bathroom or WC. At J&J Tile Design, we have dedicated hours of development, material testing, and stiffness tuning to this product.
When you reach for a cheap copy that visually pretends to be the same, you are playing a lottery with very high stakes, risking the functionality of the toilet and the integrity of the tiles. The difference in price between our original and an imitation is negligible compared to the costs of a potential repair of a broken mechanism covered by expensive tiling.
