🛠️ Selection Guide: How to master Jolly Edges and Sinks in practice
Not every Tenax adhesive is suitable for every operation. To achieve an aesthetically perfect and mechanically resistant mitered edge (Jolly Edge), the choice depends on the tile surface:
- Matte surfaces and long runs: Use Fixtop A+B. Thanks to its long pot life (40–50 min), you can seal long meters at once without the stress of premature hardening.
- Glossy surfaces and design: Choose StrongEdge 45 or Eliox. These adhesives can be polished to a high gloss, making the joint practically invisible.
- Structural bonding of sinks: Rivo A+B dominates here. It is a semi-solid epoxy with extreme adhesion to ceramics, stone, and metal, ensuring the sink stays in place forever.
- Reinforcement and rods: For bonding reinforcement elements into weakened areas (e.g., faucet cutouts), reach for Polyfast Rodding.
🔍 Expert Insight (Jakub Vavrečka): "I often encounter the myth that adhesive in a tin only lasts 3 months. If you close the tin properly and keep the lid clean, it will last its entire expiration period. However, it is crucial to use exclusively Tenax pigments. Other pastes can disrupt the epoxy chemistry – then you'll wonder why the adhesive remains tacky, doesn't dry, or loses its strength."

⚠️ Critical Application Mistakes
- Mixing "by eye" – for epoxies (Rivo, Fixtop), a 1:1 ratio is mandatory (or as per manual).
- Do not Using universal pigments from hardware stores (destroys joint strength).
- Neglecting preparation – the surface must be 100% free of cutting dust.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which adhesive is best for an invisible joint in the interior?
For "invisible" interior joints, we recommend Titanium (Extra Clear). It is a vinyl ester adhesive that cures very quickly (3–4 minutes) and is perfectly transparent after hardening. Only 1% initiator is added.
Can Tenax adhesives be used outdoors?
Yes, for outdoor use, products like GLAXS (100% UV stability, non-yellowing) or epoxies like Rivo and Fixtop, which withstand temperatures from -25°C to +60°C, are designed for this purpose.
